January 2008 Phoenix Lights Expertise Essential in Coverage of Breaking Disclosure Events
Phoenix, Arizona (February 7, 2008)—Recent major news media coverage, highlighting the Stephenville, Texas and Phoenix, Arizona sightings, were a major step in UFO disclosure. We applaud the media's balanced coverage of this complex subject.
Yet, as Phoenix researchers, www.phoenixlights3.com, we question the lack of professional Phoenix Lights investigators featured in these reports. We want to stress the importance of providing viewers with the most competent and seasoned expertise.
Over the past 11 years, Dr. Lynne D. Kitei, a respected physician and key witness to the Phoenix Lights, has compiled superlative research and documentation. Her groundbreaking collection of photographs and film footage is available on her website, www.thephoenixlights.net. She continues cooperative research with a wide array of Phoenix UFO researchers and witnesses.
Dr. Lynne's award winning, internationally distributed film, The Phoenix Lights…We Are Not Alone, 11th Anniversary Edition, provides analysis refuting the flare theory once and for all. This updated edition also has testimony from Astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell, exclusive interviews with a Phoenix Police 911 operator about what really went on that night, a commercial airline pilot and comments by Phoenix citizens including children. Her best selling book, The Phoenix Lights...A Skeptic's Discovery That We Are Not Alone, presents scientific detail and moving stories of the mass sighting that deeply affected thousands the night of March 13, 1997.
We actively endorse the recognition and utilization of Dr. Lynne in all future media coverage concerning the Phoenix Lights. Her voice is essential in a balanced, well-researched program.
As a member of Phoenix Lights 3, formed with her colleagues Dr. Rebecca Hardcastle and Terri Mansfield, Dr. Lynne is committed to the public acknowledgment of this topic, showcasing and strengthening of Phoenix as a primary gateway for UFO disclosure.
The historic Phoenix Lights event was the largest sustained sighting of a UFO in our country in the 20th Century—viewed by more people, over a longer period of time and over a larger geographical area than any other UFO sighting in modern times.
Phoenix Lights 3 was formed to validate the experiences of the thousands of citizens across Arizona who witnessed the mile-wide craft sighting of March 13, 1997, as well as the tens of thousands of citizens with personal sightings and experiences. Lives continue to change and perspectives realign in Arizona, a state with historically high UFO activity.
We encourage all media to feature expert Phoenix Lights investigators, such as Dr. Lynne, in future coverage of UFO sightings.
"It is the lights and much more."

Arizona Republic Published November 24, 2007 Letter to the Editor:
Phoenix Lights in the Age of Disclosure
Mainstream UFO coverage shifted dramatically during the October 2007 Democratic Presidential Debates when Dennis Kucinich affirmed he saw a UFO. Quickly, CNN’s Larry King and many TV and radio networks, worldwide, broadcast programs on UFOs. Then, former Arizona Governor Fife Symington, a witness to the Phoenix Lights, held a D.C. press conference demanding our government release UFO files.
Phoenix, a site of historically high UFO activity, is a gateway for disclosure. As witness to these global unexplained phenomena, all Arizonans can assume leadership in the peaceful and important acknowledgment of the UFO reality.
We applaud former Governor Fife Symington for demanding full disclosure from military and government. We salute local media who present balanced coverage of the reality of UFOs, particularly the Phoenix Lights. As Phoenicians, we are coordinating a national and international civilian contact and peaceful disclosure program. We offer our experience, education, and vision of peace to all who join us in this significant endeavor.
Respectfully, Phoenix Lights 3 Rebecca Hardcastle, Ph.D. Lynne D. Kitei, M.D. Terri Mansfield”

Symington’s Sighting
“…unless the Defense Department proves us otherwise, it was probably some form of alien spacecraft.” Former Governor, Fife Symington, CNN interview on Phoenix Lights, 3/21/07
Symington waited ten years to announce his Phoenix encounter with “strange unidentified flying objects.” As former Governor, his alien stunt offended constituents and colleagues. Yet today, many in the Phoenix Lights community are grateful for the Arizona Republic’s reporting of Symington’s surprising announcement.
Lights go on and off in the world of UFO disclosure. Sightings are a brief blip on the news and then darkness. They are gone. Only powerful questions and experiences remain. Isolation and ridicule silence the energy of sightings; an energy that may lead to awakening. So every time an individual steps forward, especially when it is a recognized former political leader quoted in a major newspaper, others follow their footsteps.
“…why is he coming clean now about seeing the lights? Well, because people asked him.” Arizona Republic, Symington Comes Out of the Space Closet, 3/21/07
Arizona Republic, please continue your coverage of unexplained sightings. Fife Symington, please keep talking about yours. We identify with the awe, drama, and unsolved nature of your experience. During the Phoenix Lights of March 13, 1997 many were pulled from their comfortable reality to witness the inexplicable.
Arizona Republic and Fife Symington, please use your influence. We concur with Symington—“no more flakey stories” from “government entities”—as he shared with investigative journalist, Leslie Kean (http://www.freedomofinfo.org). Flakey stories and confusion fade when citizens move into a dialogue of disclosure. It is a dialogue that needs to occur in every Earth institution—politics, education, religion, science, military, media and medicine. It is about seeing the lights and so much more.
We invite you and the community to join us at two important Phoenix Lights educational events, presented by key witness, Dr. Lynne Kitei: March 28, 2007 at Paradise Valley Community College and April 11, 2007 at Arizona State University. Details available at http://thephoenixlights.net
